Fred Clark for State Senate

Fred Clark is running for the State Senate in the recall election of Luther Olsen in the 14th State Senate district. Fred is something of a citizen legislator. He had (and still has) a successful career as a highly respected forester and conservationist before he jumped into the political world. He has been an instructor at the Aldo leopold Foundation's Woodland School and many other places.

Visit Fred's website. Help him out with a contribution or lend a hand in his campaign and help return Wisconsin to the place we used to know.

The following is an unedited statement from Fred's website:

A Time to Stand Up

Dear Friends,

Several weeks ago I launched my campaign for the recall election to the Wisconsin 14th Senate District. We made the announcement in a former classroom full of supporters at the Baraboo Civic Center.

I'm proud of my supporters and I'm honored by the hundreds of people who've contacted me since then to offer their support.

I'm asking for your time and energy to help spread our powerful message at doorsteps throughout the 14th Senate district.

I put a great deal of thought into making this decision. I like my current job in the Assembly just fine, and prior to this spring it never occurred to me for a second to run for the Senate.

But when hundreds of thousands of citizens travel to the Capitol and almost every other small town in Wisconsin to make their voice heard, someone has got to listen.

Over 850 volunteers worked seven days a week in one of the worst springs in memory, collecting over 23,000 signatures from voters in the 14th Senate District. All of them asked to recall Luther Olsen and I believe they deserve to have a voice.

Will you help us phone bank and go door to door to ensure that every voter has a voice? Help me accomplish this by signing up for a volunteer shift today.

Instead of listening to the overwhelming desires of his constituents, Senator Olsen sided with the radical policies of Scott Walker. He's been willing to go along to get along and follow the leaders in Madison, even when it hurts the people he was elected to represent.

The stakes are simply too high to allow that to happen again.

I am asking for your help as we move to bring back balance to a legislature that is badly out of touch with the values and priorities of the strong majority of Wisconsin citizens.

We'll have a lot of activities and lots of need for volunteers and boots on the ground in the weeks ahead. Please sign up today.

Thanks for all you do, and we'll see you on the streets and at the doors this summer!

Sincerely,
Fred Clark

P.S. For those of you who've contributed already - thank you. And if you're in a position to make a financial contribution now of $250, $100, or even $50 that will go a long way toward getting us up and running in a fast and intense campaign.
