Poll Panic?

So Mason-Dixon came out with a batch of new polls today showing McCain gaining in several battleground states.

Panic if you want to, but then take a look at this analysis House Effects in Action arguing that Mason-Dixon has had McCain running 2.5% stronger than other polls on average this year. They could be right, but even they project an Obama victory.

By the way, I have a number of McCain/GOP robocalls over the past few days and they have all been aimed at the GOP base - abortion, Ayers, and gun rights. What exactly is the point? Is there a hidden strategy? Don't they already have these votes?

And also by the way, has anyone found a good printable election night guide/scorecard? This one by LivPAC is decent, if you agree with their goals ("help elect Democratic Members of Congress who support the policies and principles that will make the U.S. government a partner in building and maintaining livable communities that embody smart growth principles.").

Election Center 2008 - Election & Politics News from CNN.com is pretty good for online use.
