Monona Council Approves Meriter TIF & Other Stuff

As previewed here, the Monona city council approved a Development Agreement with Meriter Hospital, Inc. (CDA), (scaled back) Design Plans for South Monona Drive Entryway Feature, and a Resolution Authorizing the Issuance and Sale of $9,910,000 Taxable General Obligation Promissory Notes (which reduced the interest rate from about 5.5% to 2.6%).

The Council also referred to the Transit Committee the proposed Resolution 10-08-1718 Requiring a Referendum on the Levying of a Sales Tax to Fund Commuter Rail (Aldermen Kugle, Wiswell, Veserat). The committee is supposed to get the RTA representation to attend their meeting and provide information. The matter will be brought back for a vote by the council on September 20.
