Here are some excerpts from the Monona City Council agenda for this coming Monday, August 16 at 7:30 PM at the Library Media Room. In addition to Meriter development agreement and the entryway feature, three alders have proposed a referendum on the RTA. Well, actually, it's a referendum on on a non-existent RTA plan that would only include trains.
Consideration of Resolution 10-08-1718 Approving a Development Agreement with Meriter Hospital, Inc. (CDA).
Consideration of Resolution 10-08-1716 Approval of Design Plans for South Monona Drive Entryway Feature and Authorization to Proceed (Plan Commission).

Consideration of Resolution 10-08-1720 A Resolution Authorizing the Issuance and Sale of $9,910,000 Taxable General Obligation Promissory Notes
Consideration of Resolution 10-08-1718 Requiring a Referendum on the Levying of a Sales Tax to Fund Commuter Rail (Aldermen Kugle, Wiswell, Veserat). It is interesting to note that this matter has not been to Monona Transit Committee for its review and input. Aside from the fact that the RTA Board has not proposed a plan yet.
