Join the Monona Public Library Race for the Cure Team - Now

From Toni Streckert at the Monona Public Library:

Lace up your walking shoes and help fight breast cancer!

Join the Monona Public Library Race for the Cure Team for a 1-mile walk or a 5-kilometer (3.1 mile) walk or run.

Two ways to register:

1. Paper registration and payment by check.

* To register with a paper form, fill out the form enclosed in your pink packet – or ask for a form at the front counter.

* Fill it out – and make sure to sign it.

* Make your check payable to “Komen Madison Race for the Cure.”

Fees are $25 for the walk or run, with an extra $5 for the optional chip-timing for competitive runners who want to be eligible for prizes. Children ages 6-12 are $10 and there is no fee for younger children.

* Forms should be dropped off at the Monona Public Library by Friday, May 21.

2. Online registration and payment by credit card.

* To register online, go to www.komenmadison.org and go to the “Register” link.

* Go to the “Join an existing team” link (you can search by team name, which is Monona Public Library).

* All online registrants must pay by credit card.

* Online registration for our team ends at midnight Friday, May 21.

For both registration methods, your race number and T-shirt will be delivered to the library and we will contact you when you can pick it up on the week of the race.

  1. Doug- If folks have kiddos, and they are not doing Race for the Cure, on June 5th they should definitely be at the Sawyer Crossen Memorial Kids Triathlon- a new and wonderful annual event for kids 4-17 in Monona. There was a great story in the Herald last week-

This is going to become a wonderful family event each year- people should go to the rec dept website to sign up kids, sign up to volunteer, or donate money! A great Monona family and a great cause.

And you should put it at the top of your blog.... :)
