A fair way to compare tax rates

Monona's tax rate (including all school, city, county, state, and MATC property taxes) is slightly below average among cities in Dane County based on the fair market value tax rate per $1,000. On the same basis property taxes only went up $11.61 in Monona for a $200,000 home in 2009.
