Monona Public Safety Committee Approves Fire Chief/EMS Director Consolidation

After lengthy discussion, the Monona Public Safety Committee approved the consolidation of the EMS Director/Fire Marshal position into the Fire Chief.

There will be more discussion at the city council about the proposal and its collateral impacts. Can all of the duties and work be consolidated into one position?

(Consideration of Resolution 09-10-1661 Eliminating the Director of Fire Prevention/EMS Director and Transferring the Duties to the Fire Chief; and Developing a Full, Complete and Comprehensive Set of Standards, Operating Policies, Procedures, and Practices for the Department (Alderman Wiswell, Alderman Veserat).

Consideration of Ordinance 10-09-608 Amending Section 2-3-8 Relating to the Duties of the Fire Chief in the City of Monona, and Eliminating Section 2-3-9 Relating to the Director of Fire Prevention / EMS Director (Alderman Wiswell, Alderman Veserat).
