Monona Parks Geese Mitigation Program Needs You - and Your Dog

Goose droppings in local parks is an ongoing problem, especially at the Winnequah Park soccer fields. The Monona Park Department has developed a plan to help encourage the geese to land elsewhere.

From the Monona Parks Department:

Geese Mitigation

The Monona Parks & Recreation Department is seeking the assistance of dogs and their owners for the purpose of humanely attempting to remove geese from Winnequah Park. This agreement permits the Dog Owner to run the below listed dog(s) in Winnequah Park under the following rules, as an exemption to Monona City Ordinance 12-1-1 (17) which prohibits pets from public parks, for the period of time the permitted activities are undertaken. Interested volunteers can click below for a complete list of rules and regulations. Call the Parks & Rec Dept at 222-4167 with questions.
