Another MG School Race Email

And now I have received a 'vote Monona' email that appears to have been sent by Kristin Yates solely on her own. It appeals to Monona voters to support the 'Monona candidate', but also supports a CG candidate.

Subject: You Desperately NEED to vote on Tuesday. THREE of SEVEN seats up for grab. Four candidates. The only one Monona based is Jessica Ace.

Please talk to all your friends in Monona. This election is crucial. We need at There are 3 Cottage Grove candidates and only ONE Monona based candidate. Sue Fox and Sue Manning need you to get out the vote. Our Monona based board members could be severely outnumbered if we don't get out the vote for:

JESSICA ACE

I have watched the League of Women Voters forum online (http://www.mononatv.com/play.php?VideoID=164) and attended the PTO Forum last Thursday, which was not heavily attended. I have spoke personally or by email with all the new candidates. I plan to vote for Jessica Ace and Lionel Norton. I am concerned a third vote for any other candidate might undermine Jessica or Lionel's opportunity to win. Take my endorsement for what it is worth! I am not telling you who to vote for.

IF 1500 PEOPLE IN MONONA VOTE FOR JESSICA, IT SHOULD BE ENOUGH FOR HER TO WIN. SUE FOX GOT THAT MANY VOTES LAST YEAR. COTTAGE GROVE DOES NOT USUALLY GET OUT THE VOTE, THOUGH THEY HAVE THE CHANCE TO PICK A NEW VILLAGE PRESIDENT THIS ELECTION, SO IT SHOULD BE HIGHER THAN USUAL. SEE THE TABLE AT THE END OF THIS LETTER.

Please do not vote for anyone you have not checked out yourself. Cottage Grove PTO has a nice summary sheet on each candidate: http://cgrovepto.googlepages.com/2009schoolboardelection

The Herald-Independent has a written summary transcript of the LOWV Forum - YES- now online - http://www.heraldindependentonline.com/main.asp?Search=1&ArticleID=765&SectionID=34&SubSectionID=62&S=1

Obviously, Jessica is my neighbor and we are both on the Monona Elementary PTO Board, she is in her third or fourth year on the board, Co-President this year. I am so impressed she has the guts and gumption to run. She has Monona parents best interest at heart, and will truly care for the needs of Cottage Grove kids, too.

Incumbent Mike Duplayee from Cottage Grove is running again for a third term. Those of you who opposed the GD middle school will appreciate my lack of support for his candidacy. Peter Sobol has been actively supporting McCutchin, along with Nancy Allen, and Kathy Bultman (CG based former board members who were responsible for the GD school.) Jason is also on the AD HOC committee.

  1. Well, if there was ever any question about whether current school board members represent the "whole" district or not--- This clears it up. When will people get over the middle school thing. For god's sake the numbers are UP in Monona.

  3. OMG!!! Much to do about nothing in either email. People vocally supporting the candidates they prefer. This is what they call democracy. It's what people have died for.
