A message from the Monona City Engineer:
Dear Property Owner and/or Resident,
The Cities of Monona and Madison would like to invite you to the second scheduled Public Informational Meeting for the Monona Drive Reconstruction Project Phase 2. The project boundaries of Phase 2 are from Winnequah Road to Cottage Grove Road. The Public Informational Meeting will be held on Monday, March 30, 2009 at the City of Monona Community Center, 1011 Nichols Road, starting at 5:00 p.m. and ending at approximately 7:30 p.m. The Community Center is located directly across Nichols Road from the Monona Public Library. There will be two formal presentations by Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC (Foth) containing the same information. The first will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the second will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m. with the remainder of the meeting conducted in an “open house” basis. The presentations will provide information on the project’s intersection geometrics, right of way challenges and the corridor’s typical cross section. All interested parties will be given an opportunity to view exhibits, ask questions and provide comments on the project. Feel free to come and go as you desire.
Starting Monday, March 16, 2009, Foth will mark out the proposed back of sidewalk throughout the project limits to allow you to see a visual representation of the proposed typical cross section when applied to the corridor. White water-based, lead-free marking paint will be applied at each property line and, if needed, an additional line will be placed at mid property. Where applicable, paint will only be applied to grass surfaces. Since the paint is lead-free and water-based, application on lawns will not damage grass.
For additional information concerning the Monona Drive Reconstruction Project, please contact Richard Vela, City of Monona, at (608) 222-2525 or Christy Bachmann, City of Madison, at (608) 266-4095.
Sincerely,
