From Monona City Engineer Rich Vela:
On Monday June 9, the asphalt on Winnequah Road between Maywood Road and Graham Avenue will be milled and resurfaced. The milling consists of the removal of the top 1.5” or so of the asphalt pavement and is in preparation of resurfacing the same area of road. The resurfacing of the road will occur immediately following the milling process. All work is scheduled to occur on Monday. Addendum: I'm guessing no work will be done on Monday due to the predicted (continuing) rain.

Who is paying for that?
ReplyDeleteNot the city.
ReplyDeleteI for one would love it if everything stayed just as it is today! (Monday). People, for once, are actually driving the speed limit on Winnequah Road for fear of bottoming out.
ReplyDeleteHAH. Isn't that what we wanted to achieve all along?
Anon,
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree! Leave those ground-down notches in place, for once people can walk along the streets without being run over by a speeding Lexus (BMW, Infiniti, etc). For those of us who live on Winnequah, we think it's great! People actually driving LEGALLY!
I'm avoiding the notches, by not driving on Winnequah.
ReplyDeleteUsually the speeding and tailgating on Winnequah is ridiculous.
One day, an SUV, driving an inch from my rear bumper noticed "insert famous person's name here" working in the yard, and backed off.
I'm thinking, maybe we could place realistic cardboard cutouts of various local "celebrities" in their yards along Winnequah.
