Got this tip about the Monona library's new e-newsletters from Heather Gates over at the Monona Natural Step.
"What should I read?" As library staff and book lovers ourselves, we know how much we appreciate book recommendations from trusted sources. That's why we've developed Good Reads - to help you find books you'll enjoy.
With Good Reads, we've done the work for you. Here you'll find more than 20 e-newsletters highlighting titles in specific categories, including new titles just added to the Monona Library. Subscribe to the categories of interest and on a regular basis you'll receive e-mail notification of new titles in those categories. And not just titles - we give you a peek at the book jacket, a brief description of each title and a direct link from the e-newsletter to the library catalog to place a hold on titles you'd like us to reserve for you. Prefer RSS feed to e-mail? We do that, too.
But Good Reads is more than e-newsletters. Go behind the books to meet the Authors - we have biographies and interviews with more than 1500 authors. Learning more about an author can truly enhance your reading experience. Or choose a "good read" from our authoritative New York Times bestseller list or our more than 80 other bestseller and award list for adults, teens and children.
The Sustainability Section has its own e-newsletter! (MD: Isn't that E-Squared?) Go to Newsletter Signup. To subscribe to the newsletter, click on the box next to Sustainability Section - New Items, scroll down to the bottom and put in your email address. If you’d like to just see the newest items, click on Sustainability Section - New Items.
Thanks to Erick Plumb and Demita Gerber at the library for this and all the other things they do to help TNSM and sustainability! They are great!

Doug,
ReplyDeleteThis post makes it sound like I'm taking credit for developing the library's new e-newsletter program! You left off my opening line, "Check out this new offering from the Monona Public Library:"
Save for the last two paragraphs, what I sent was copied from the Monona Public Library's website.
Oops. Oh well, you don't get enough credit for all the good stuff you do.
