Going to the Candidates Debate

Sitting on a sofa on a Sunday afternoon
Going to the candidates debate
Laugh about it, shout about it
When you've got to choose
Ev'ry way you look at it, you lose
Simon and Garfunkel, Mrs. Robinson Simon And Garfunkel: Mrs. Robinson Lyrics
Unlike Mrs. Robinson you only lose if you don't pay attention to this campaign and vote on April 1.
TheMG school board and the Monona city council candidates (Monona Council Candidates) are having debates this Sunday. You can submit questions at the, excuse me, forum or by phone. City council questions may be called in during the debate at 442-6601. School Board question shave to be called in between 1 pm and 4 pm on Sunday to 221-7666, extension 3133. To read all my posts about the campaign so far click on Campaign .
Both forums last two hours. Well, holding a local elected office does require a streak of masochism. Anyway, here are more details from the Monona School and Community Cable (Channel 12) web site.

"Monona School and Community Cable (Channel 12) will sponsor two Candidate Forums this March before the April 1st Election.

The first forum, for the Monona Grove School Board, will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 on Sunday March 9th in the Community Media Room of the Monona Public Library. Questions for the candidates will also be accepted at the forum or by phone. However, questions for the School Board must be phoned in between 1:00 and 4:00 pm on March 9th to (608) 221-7666 extension 3133. Channel 12 will not be able to answer the phone during the taping.

The second forum, for the Monona City Council, will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 on Sunday March 9th in the Community Media Room of the Monona Public Library. Questions for the candidates may be written at the forum, or called in during the live broadcast, to (608) 442-6601.

The League of Women Voters will provide an impartial moderator for each event, and both forums will be rebroadcast on Channel 12. Copies will also be available for viewing at the Monona Public Library, and on www.mononatv.com a few days after each taping."
