Council Report - October 1, 2007

The Monona common council had a fairly thin, but important agenda Monday night. The council approved a Goose Management Plan that I blogged previously (See Goosed).

Of somewhat larger import, the council approved the employment contract for our new city administrator, Pat Marsh. He was selected from a large pool of applicants after a thorough vetting process. Pat has been the administrator at Coal Valley, Illinois, a suburb of the Quad Cities (Quick, name them!) and also served on a bi-state planning commission for over a decade. I think the Monona community is going to be very comfortable with Pat Marsh.

Pat also served as head wrestling coach at Augustana College from 2000 to 2007 winning four conference championships at the NCAA Division III level. Here is the school's announcement:

Here is the Cap Times coverage:

As the cap Times noted Alder suslick was absent. More on that later.

  1. Hey, maybe he can revive wrestling at MG! I know many boys (and maybe girls too) who would have liked this opportunity over the years.
