The Assembly Republicans have decided to take a break from governing to act like morons. The budget passed by the Assembly GOP included a proposal to eliminate funding for the UW Law School . (Maybe he wants us all to have lawyers who attended Marquette!)
It's one thing for Crazy Frank Lasee to propose such silly ideas, it's quite another for one of our two legislative chambers to actually pass a bill with this proposal included. After all, as Paul Soglin has pointed out Lasee hates Wisconsin .
If I were going to wisecrack I would jump on the Lasee bandwagon. After all, I've already got my law degree, so let's shut down the Law School for a few years; heck, let's go farther and not allow any new admissions to the State Bar. But Lasee's bandwagon is a little small, as pictured here:

And then there's Rep. Sheryl Albers who hates pets. According to news reports, Albers' divorce was less than cordial and one of things the unhappy ex-couple couldn't agree on was the family dog. Albers didn't like dog hair and didn't want the little nasty coming along on her kids' visitation, but that was what the judge ordered. So, naturally Albers has proposed a new law to put a leash on how judges handle pet custody - both ex-marrieds would have to agree or Fido might end up in the pound.
Maybe Albers should get a vacuum and let judges do the judging (presumably with law degrees from Marquette!).
And now comes Rep. Mark Gundrum to give us a clear insight into what the GOP thinks about our state when he says Milwaukee would 'survive' the GOP Assembly budget's cuts in state aid. That's their aspiration for the state's largest city? To survive?
The Assembly budget also basically eliminate funding for public broadcasting with the added effect of cutting funding for Amber Alerts.
In thew words of Bugs Bunny, what a bunch of maroons.

No, Doug I hadn't heard that but I'm sure the local Democrat incumbents will miss him each April and November!
