Cheap Travel? Think Locally

Talk of the Nation had a show today on Tips for Summer Travel including Matt Gross The Frugal Traveler, who is traveling across the US this summer. He's already been to Wisconsin where he stopped at Taliesin and also a community of anarchists in West Lima (hey, Matt you sure that's not Lena?).

Anyway, people called in with places to go in their towns for cheap roadside attractions, food, etc. So, where would I send somebody? Well, the Dane County Farmer's Market is cheap, (it's really cheap provided you just walk around and look at people). Or how about a ride around Lake Monona? No bike, try a community bike. Hey, kids can earn a bike at Wheels for Winners.

And how about a Mallards game?
