In case you missed the 'gadfly' story in the WSJ, here are links to the main story, and the Mari Anne Lichtfeld and Daniel 'Jim' Guilfoil sidebars. Pretty fair articles and I was even quoted accurately. Helloooo Monona expressed her disdain for critics that complain about the inaccuracy of her column (like me) with a flippant 'don't read it'. She'd be a lot more effective gadfly if her column had more credibility or if she took the trouble to answer some of the questions she raises.
The Lichtfeld story also left the reader with the false impression that her column had something to do with the council dropping the Monona/Nichols roundabout. The actual reason, as I have reported, was that Nichols School is a potentially historic property in the eyes of the federal government and that even taking a little of the front yard requires an appeal to federal highway HQ in Washington.

Can't wait to see her cough up a big hairball about the Garden Circle purchase.
