When we moved to Monona some 22+ years ago there were a handful of restaurants and they tended toward the traditional Wisconsin fare. There was Leske's Supper Club and the Colonial Inn. Country Kitchen, Hardees, and Lums. I think Rossario's and Pizza Oven are the only holdovers.
Today, we have Edo's Japanese Restaurant, Crandall's, David's Jamaican, Fat Jack's, Angelo's, and Fraboni's. And La Bamba, Red Robin, Bourbon Street Grille, Happy Wok, and Noodles & Co. And of course, Original Pancake House, Pizza Oven, Rossario's, Rossi's Pizza, Taste of China, Thai House, Quizno's, Cranberry Creek, and Tully's II. Yeah, I know a couple of those are across the street in Madison, but close enough. And I hear a brew pub may be coming in to Madison in the area behind Cranberry Creek.
Got a favorite? My son likes Red Robin. My girls like Noodles. My wife's favorite is David's Jamaican. Ditto for me - or the Thai House.

I forgot to mention that Buffalo Wild Wings (BW3) is coming to Pier 37 probably in February 2007 (where Animal Adventure used to be).
ReplyDeleteGreat. Buffalo Wild Wings has been a hit with my friends in Minnesota. I hope it passes muster here. I heartily wish we could get a Panera Bread.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love Caribou Coffee.
Edo! Edo! Edo!
ReplyDeleteThis place has sushi every bit as good as the pricey san francisco joints. I was so pleasently suprised to find this gem so close to home. Go at a quite time, sit at the sushi bar and just ask the Sushi chef to serve up some of his favorites.
