Mets Get Lucky - and Hit a Bunch of HR's

The Mets spanked the Cards last night 12-5 to tie the series at 2-2. Tom Glavine goes against Jeff Weaver this evening. By far the best starting pitchers are Glavine and Chris Carpenter. My thought from the get-go: The Mets have to win when Glavine pitches and likewise for the Birds when Carpenter goes and the first team to slip up in that regard is in big trouble. Even if the Mets do win tonight (and Weaver has been surprisingly effective in the post-season), I like the Cardinals in Game Six with Carpenter against Maine (the pitcher not the state).

Game Seven appears likely and with starting pitchers drawn from the slag heap, look for lots of runs.
