Last week Karl Rove went on NPR to discuss Republican chances next Tuesday and asserted that the GOP, contrary to all analysts of the left or right, would hold on to both houses of Congress. With that chilling combination of sneering arrogance and sublime confidence, Rove told the interviewer that he (the interviewer) was entitled to his math (polling numbers), but Rove was entitled to the math, the implication being that Rove's math showed a GOP sweep.
The Dems and the national media have fallen for this bit of psyops (psychological operations) hook, line and sinker. Rove doesn't have any better numbers than the Democrats do. The Dems have smart people looking at the numbers, too. Rove was just trying to throw the Democrats off their game in the last 2 weeks - to what end is not entriely clear. Perhaps he simply took advantage of the Dems total lack of confidence, threw out thje Doomsday scenario and hoped for Dems to do something stupid - like get disheartened.
Don't fall for it.
