The Harvest Moon Festival returns for the 6th year tonight, Friday, September 24 at 6 PM at the Lussier Family Heritage Center, 3101 Lake Farm Road, Madison WI 53711 (608)-224-3604.
The festival iincludes an illuminated trail through the park, with displays set up on the walk showcasing wildlife such as owls, small and large mammals, amphibians, insects and bats. Stargazing with UW-Madison's Universe in the Park, and the big Howlin' Campfire behind the Lussier Family Heritage Center, complete with s'mores and bluegrass music.
The festival kicks off at 6 p.m.; admission is $3 and kids under 2 are free.
Better yet a $5.00/person annual Friends of Capital Springs Recreation Area membership includes free admission to this event.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
The proceeds will go to the Friends of Capital Springs Recreation Area to support the Lussier Family Heritage Center, Capital City State Trail, Capital Springs State Park, Lake Farm County Park and the Jenni and Kyle Preserve, all part of the recreation area.
