I Cannot Believe I Forgot to Blog This

You may have heard about the plight of Monona teenager Colton Albrecht. Born at 24 weeks and weighing 1 pound, 4 ounces, Colton's retinas detached ("Retinopathy of Prematurity-stage 5 retinal detachment" according to the family web page) has been blind his entire life.

Experimental surgery could give vision to Colton Albrecht. Their eye surgeon says Colton "is most likely a very good candidate" for surgery that would implant a microchip that would allow his brain to see.

Yeah, that's great....the surgery will cost about $65,000 per eye and insurance doesn't cover it.

You can help by buying a copy of the family's book, "My Pretend Book". It costs $8 for the first copy and $7 for additional copies.

(The family was at the Monona Farmers Market selling the book today and I had planned to blog it, but just simply forgot.)

  1. I don't need the book - I would rather just send money. Is there a fund set up?
