You can find tonight's agenda and department reports here.

The city of Monona's new Fire Chief, Scott Sullivan will be sworn in tonight. He is the first full-time fire chief in the city's history.

I found this item from Police Chief Walter Ostrenga to be of some interest - and good news:

City of Monona
DEPARTMENT PROGRESS REPORT
Law Enforcement/Emergency Dispatch
Date Ending: Wednesday 3/31/10
ACCOMPLISHMENTS/INCIDENTS

We went live with the new Global Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) on Tuesday, March 30th around 8:00 am.....The initial reports back have been very positive. For the officers, they now get their vehicle and drivers license information back almost instantly, in the past it could take several minutes for a response. This is a huge unexpected improvement for officer safety that we never anticipated with the switchover. They are also able to save and view past data run, and automatically populate their citations and crash reports with their data. Among many other upgrades, the dispatchers are now able to have the 911 calls auto-populate the CAD, have quick access to addresses within the city, have a cleaner windows based program to use and view, and have a map of Monona to plot out where the call is located. Eventually the squad locations will also be viewed on the map, but this will take time as additional hardware has to be installed in each vehicle.
