Monona Grove DECA Going to State

The Monona Grove DECA Club placed high in a number of "series" at the district competition at the Oregon High School yesterday and is headed to the state competition at Lake Geneva in March 2010. Congratulations!

The district competition involved two written tests (marketing specific and marketing math/economics) and two role-playing business situations with a businessperson.

They brought home the hardware.

They also get to wear nice hats.

And they toured Miller Park.

And they worked hard. (You'll have to take my word on that; I don't have a picture.)

What is DECA? According to Wikipedia: "DECA (formerly known as Distributive Education Clubs of America, also known as Delta Epsilon Chi on the college level) is an international association of students and teachers of marketing, management and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality, and marketing sales and service (DECA.org). It is one of ten organizations listed as Career and Technical Student Organizations by the United States Department of Education." DECA (organization) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
