Way Down Upon the Zambezi River

Having made a killing working at Microsoft, Slate Magazine, and Yahoo, my nephew (who obviously has trouble holding on to a job) recently tried to kill himself on the Zambezi River (The Nature Conservancy - Great Rivers Partnership -- Zambezi River).

Scott, my brother David, his brother Duncan, and I took an unguided 5-day trip on the Selway River in Idaho (OK, we did have Richard Bangs on the trip, but he wasn't being paid. He wrote about our trip in his book Richard Bangs: Adventure Without End ). The Selway is one of the remaining great wilderness rivers in the US. GORP - Selway River, Idaho. But anyway, my main point is that we did not turn the raft over on our trip.

Scott survived the Zambezi and sent along some pix. I can't seem to get them to post, so you'll have to take my word that they are worth taking a peak at and go to straight to the source:
