Reaping What You Sow

Having whipped up fear and hatred on the campaign trail, John McCain now finds that his supporters took the terrorist rhetoric seriously and he has to talk them down.

MSNBC Countdown carried stunning video of John McCain at a campaign event today in Minnesota. During a Q & A session with his supporters, McCain first took the microphone back from a woman who said that she couldn't trust Obama because he is "an Arab". McCain then stated, "no, ma'am, no ma'am, he's a decent family man, citizen, that I just happen to have disagreements with himon fundamental issues". Shortly later, a man said he was afraid of an Obama presidency. McCain answered by saying that Obama is a decent man with whom he has fundamental policy differences, but you don't have to be scared of an Obama presidency.

The crowd booed. John McCain's own supporters booed him.

McCain needs to start thinking about the best way to lose this campaign for his own legacy and for the country.

  1. The conservative base booed him and McCain's no conservative. McCain is playing to the undecided voters. The conservative base will for for him no matter what.

Been reading a lot of Hillary supporter blogs. Boy, are they po'd about Obama's tactics going back to the caucuses.

This is going to be an interesting week.

  2. The Wingnut Brigade has taken over at McCain's rallies. You overestimate their loyalty to a candidate they never liked.

I don't know what you mean by interesting, but you are probably correct in the sense that watching the markets and McCain's campaign implode are interesting in a train wreck way.
