So, Rashid Khalidi is a terrorist, says John McCain. Khalidi is actually a Palestinian-American, a scholar, the Director of The Middle East Institute - SIPA - Columbia University and the Edward Said Professor of Arab Studies at Columbia.
Looks real scary, doesn't he:
Check out this post from Anderson Cooper and Khalidi being interviewed by Joe Scarborough:
Rashid Khalidi: “scurrilous” charges wherein Khalidi states:
"I’m somebody who thinks that the United States has made some mistakes in the Middle East and that these are things that are not in the best interest of the United States or the American people."
and
"What I said and what I believe is that killing civilians, in any manner, form, or shape, is a war crime, is a violation of international law. The massacre of innocent children by suicide bombers is, in my view, a war crime."
And McCain once again failed to his homework. Turns out that, "During the 1990s, while he served as chairman of the International Republican Institute (IRI), McCain distributed several grants to the Palestinian research center co-founded by Khalidi, including one worth half a million dollars.
A 1998 tax filing for the McCain-led group shows a $448,873 grant to Khalidi's Center for Palestine Research and Studies for work in the West Bank. (See grant number 5180, "West Bank: CPRS" on page 14 of this PDF.)" McCain Funded Work Of Palestinian His Campaign Hopes To Tie To Obama Huffington Post.
