Bandwagon Effect

Hey, hey, ho, ho, that indoor smoke has got to go....

Sorry, a little flashback.

News comes across the teletype that the Dane County Board Supervisors are taking up a smoking ban ordinance for the unincorporated areas in the county. The county ordinance would take effect 90 days after publication.

Channel 3000 reports that "the proposal is expected to go through several committees and if passed this fall, businesses would have 90 days to go smoke-free.

A related resolution urges other communities in the county to adopt smoking bans that would go into effect by June 1, 2009 (same date as the Monona ordinance).

  1. Dane County sets 90 days as a reasonable time to put the ban into effect!
In Monona it took struggle to get a year as the time limit. Are the merchants in the towns and villages less important than they are in Monona?
Smoking kills...but some killing is more political than others.
