Stub Your Butt

Bans on public indoor smoking are gaining momentum. Marshfield voters approve smoke-free referendum by a 2 - 1 margin!

Fitchburg's smoke-free ordinance implemented April 1

And Minnesota is making fun of us with a billboard on I-94 near Hudson. (If anyone can find a photo of this billboard, let me know - I googled my fingers off with no luck).

The voters in Marshfield passed a binding referendum. Here is the wording of the referendum question in Marshfield. Is a referendum vote in Monona's future?

Take note that the Marshfield wording only allows very limited exceptions, a necessity in order to have a concise question.

Question 1: Prohibit Smoking in Indoor Places"Should the Common Council of the City of Marshfield, Wisconsin, prohibit smoking in indoor places including any indoor place that is a place of employment or that is open to the public or to which members of the public may be invited or have lawful access, but does not apply to a private residence, a room used by a person in a retirement home as a private residence or a room in a lodging establishment that has been designated as a room where smoking is allowed?"

  2. What a randomplace to post this comment...Anyway, check out the photo of my late dog, Jazz. Note the red beardlike-thingy. Copied that from Scott (Sure-I-Can-Drive) Spiezio in the 2006 Series. If I get down to Busch this year I will post pix. In fact, I may have some from my trip last year.
