About Those Anonymous Comments

Ever since I started this blog I have allowed people to post 'anonymous' comments.

I allowed the anonymous comments in part because I was curious to see what people had to say in response to what I had to say. And I also allowed it because I wanted to create a place where people could make their comments about life in Monona (or any of the other stuff I write about).

I am re-thinking this policy.

Late last night someone posted a personal attack on another poster who actually did sign her name. I deleted the attack and posted my response to the coward. I am not going to allow that kind of nonsense to go on. Kudos for Me - Errr, Not

I have also allowed a number of quite negative comments, many attacking me, to remain in the hopes that even these negative comments might further discussion. I am having second thoughts about that too. Some of the comments are very bold, but not necessarily well-informed.

For the time being, I simply ask that you STOP and think before you post. Can you make your point without being unpleasant? Would you be embarrassed to have your name attached to your comments? If so, then maybe you should not post them without editing.

And, hey, try signing your name. Own your opinions.
