The Monona common council and the Mayor's advisory search committee met last night with the consultant to go over the list of 38 applicants for the city administrator position. We narrowed the list down to 11 semifinalists. The consultant will request short videos from each semifinalist and will do a background check. The council and committee will meet again on September 6 to narrow the choices down to 4 finalists.
The finalists will be brought to town on September 21 for an informal get together followed by the interview process and selection on Saturday morning, September 22.

That's quite group...do you have them go through a metal detector first?
ReplyDeleteDoug- What is the process by which these folks were chosen? Seems like something that should have been posted all over the place and people coudl apply. Fuss, for example, already serves on the Ad hoc committee. Seems like we could have spread out to some new folks.
ReplyDeleteThe Mayor chose the members; it's his committee and I assume he went with people whose judgment he trusts.

I think the mayor did a nice job of picking people who don't always see eye-to-eye with each other and/or with the mayor himself. I think it's one of the best decisions he has made.
