"New" City Web Site

The City has put up the revised web site , but it is a work in progress, and hopefully quick progress as a lot of information that was on the old site is not up yet (archived agendas and minutes, various reports, etc.). I'm holding fire for the time being - I expect staff to get it worked out and the Mayor has made the web 'presence' a higher priority.

Anyway, this would be an excellent time to make suggestions either here or directly to your elected officials as to stuff you'd like to see on the web site. The new site does have a lot of potential.

The web site can do two obvious things: one provide informartion to the residents of the city (and people elsewhere) and allow people to interact with city government. As to information, I really think we should be putting just about everything up - not just agendas and minutes, but reports, memos, letters, whatever. Posting to the web should be routine not exceptional - which also requires careful thought about how the information is orgnaized and presented.

  1. Can someone explain to me why voters in the northern precinct have to go to the southern precinct to vote, and vice versa?
