For reasons not entirely clear to me, the Governor's office called me this week and invited me to a "Town Hall meeting with Governor Jim Doyle" tomorrow (Friday, 12-08) from 11:45 am to 1 p.m. at MATC.
Any suggestions for questions?

Using GAAP acounting, the budget is far from balanced. How will you begin to balance the budget?
ReplyDeleteHow will you reconcile needs and available dollars in the Transportation Fund?
How should school districts across the state (especially MPS) demonstrate they are performing in exchange for ever-increasing dollars from the state?
What programs might be eliminated as responsibilities of state government, even though any program elimination will result in a clamor from some interest group or another?
Unfortunately, time was limited and I was not able to ask my question. I was going to ask what he planned to do with municipal levy limits. You wrote down your questions and handed them in to the moderator. I suppose he might not have wanted to disclose his budget plans in this setting.
