Most needed improvement in Monona?

What one change would you most like to see in Monona? (No names, please.) I'd like to add a footpath in Winnequah Park along the lagoon. I'd also like a bookstore in town.

Park changes? Roads? Laws and ordinances?

  1. Roads, then add waterfront/lake access to the homes in Oneida Park and Winnequah Park. Just one piece of the puzzle to attract residents, improve tax base and improve Monona.

  2. The public transportation is awful. There's no way to get downtown by bus unless you take the early morning or late afternoon shuttle and it is expensive. I have never heard of an urban area at the core of a large metropolitan city that has no public transportation.

  3. More street lights in the residential areas would be nice.

  4. I would say just the opposite - remove street lights from residential areas entirely. This will save the city money and give us a much nicer rural feel.

Oh, we should also have a walking/biking path all the way around the lakeshore!

  5. We need a dog park! And enforcement of the weed ordinances for the garlic mustard on the vacant lot owned by Baldwin on Winnequah

  6. Where is the vacant lot on Winnequah owned by Baldwin?

I'd like a dog park, too, but I don't know where it would go.

  7. On the east side of Winnequah between Moygara and Midwood. This was created by the splitting of a lot with a house on Henuah circle.

A dog park could go in the back half of Maywood park, or maybe in the "back 40" of Winnequah park - having it on the lagoon would be good.
